While in the Hair/ Make Up Chair

People think getting your make up and hair done all the time must be amazing well there are a few things you should know.

Aside making sure your stylist has clean tools is the first and foremost.  If its not clean use your own.  Back before HD, make up artist could just pile on make up and change you whole face.  Not anymore, skin is very important.  Your skin should be on point at all times. When your skin goes to work you need to take care of it.  Primer is ok every once in a while but its not meant for everyday wear.  Primer will clog your pores something fierce.  Try to avoid touching your face with or without make up on it.

While in the chair

  • Chew gum
  • Be on the phone
  • Talk to much
  • Tell them what you want, your face has been rented for the day. It’s all about what the client wants.
  • Change anything after you have been approved

  • When your getting eye make up done, look to the opposite direction of the eye being done. i.e.. if your right eye is getting eyeshadow look all the way to the left.  This will help you keep still.
  • Ask questions, how long have you been doing _____?, Where did you go to school? What products do you use?
  • Pay attention, be focused on your face.  Unless your learning sides.
  • Try your best to preserve you lip color until you go to set.

Love love love being a model, it’s my dream job. I went to modeling school in Detroit when I was 12 years old. I work full time as a model,  trying to fit in as many projects as possible.   Always  working on something  everyday.  There are loads of different clients and industry professionals I’ve worked with all over the world..  Designers are some of my most favorite people in the world.  There is nothing that makes me happier than a designer that’s happy with their clothes on me.
