Get Frock’d

While slinking around Saks, Niemans, & Bloomingdales in Vegas and La. I felt the season in a physical sense.  Bloomingdales conveyed a season to me in displays and l’air.

My Picks From Project

While fit modeling at project during magic, I was able to see the new spring and fall lines. While standing in one booth all day I got to watch all types of people walk by in all sorts of trends.

My top trends I will be shopping for immediately.
* peekaboo tops, skirts and bottoms. Aka short in from long in back, think mullet for clothes but very chic.
* blazers are just the opposite. Longer in front with cropped back.
* long over short, this is hard to pull off.
* colored denim, any and all shades. If you want to be über trendy go for cropped colored denim.
* printed denim, mostly animal prints.
* south western patterns seem to be in

Sundance 2012

I spend the whole year shopping for film festivals. I love fashion in fashionable places so choosing items that will set me apart from the crowd is the object of the game. For Sundance my themes are off colors and fur. I love naturally harvested fur and other fluffy warm things. The day before the festival this year I bought a vintage fur coat from American Vintage next to my house. It had tags on it for 85 and I talked them down to 65 because it needed some love to be ready to rock at Sundance. There is no better place in the world to wear this jacket. When I took it to my fav fur store in park city. They were delighted to see it and estimate that it was hand made by some hippie in the late 70′s. I love this coat and I will keep it forever. I know that I promised something with gorilla sleeves this season but I went the vintage route instead. There was no way I could leave this oldie without a home.
My day two outfit was what really made this Sundance very special. I wore a cream knee length jacket and fur boots I carted home from Tokyo, a Micheal Kors sweater coat. Paired with a very special dress from a client and green leggings. Oh and let’s not forget 8lbs of underpants. Shape wear is key to staying warm and looking less bloated due to altitude. While at a thrift store, I found a ream rabbit fur knit hat that was made for my outfit. I bought it for $25 and went about my day. That hat interviewed with the Sundance Channel and genConnect. I also wore the who,e outfit to lmfao that night.
Day 3 was all about cashmere. I found a very expensive floppy neck camel sweater for $30 at Nordstoms rack. In addition to j brands and shorty uggs I was in business. This outfit took me from festival to flying all the way back to LA.

Shabby Chic Malibu Boutique Beach Monkey

29575 pacific coast highway
Malibu, CA
My dear friend Lola had her grand opening soirée for her brand new Malibu boutique Beach Monkey. We had champagne, brownies and strawberries all while belting out the sound track to little mermaid. It’s just a jog up the Malibu coast. Right on PCH next to Clout the surf store. If you have kids or don’t the array of merchandise in Beach Monkey is super cute. Lots of handmade items that you can’t get any place else. the prices are spectacular. I picked up a beaded bracket and suffered major stick shock only $9.99. Check this place out everything from chandeliers to lip balm.

Jimmy Choo Without Tamara Mellon

image

For years I have worshiped Jimmy Choo as a staple in my closet.  To top that love I have a deep appreciation for the HSBIC (head shoe bitch in charge) Tamara Mellon as not only a fashion icon but as one of the most savvy businesswomen to ever walk the earth in 6 inch crocodile stilettos.
Im a huge fan of ladies doing big business Im not worried about Ms. Mellon Im concerned about what will happen to Jimmy Choo without her.   When Jimmy Choo did a bridge line for H&M( a store I loathe) I promptly cried foul on grounds of brand integrity.  Back in November it was made public the co founder of Jimmy Choo was leaving but would remain an employee till the end of the year.  Now that 2011 has past Tamara Mellon will be moving on to other things.  I can only hope I have a new obsession to make room in my wardrobe for.  However, Im not exactly sure what I think of Jimmy Choo now.  I have built my fashion world around Jimmy Choo shoes.

Black Friday

As black friday comes to an end nobody died but a few people were pepper sprayed over a $2 waffle iron.  Yet another year I promised myself I wouldn’t shop but then I did.  Only the little tiniest bit.  Found gifts for one cousin and one grandma. Also found another frame for the house.  It was an adventure and I took the dog with me.  Time to start wrapping and devise a new plan to ups things where needed.

Personal Shopper LA

Tis the season for standing in lines, fighting crowds and wrapping gifts all in time for the holidays or you can just sit on your couch.  The all new Personal Shopper LA is here to help.

Giftsets Save Money

I was thinking of more dollar conscious way to navigate the beauty world. Money is tight for a lot of people and there is no way I would be giving up my proven skin care regiment of departments store beauty aids. The recession is taking a toll on wallets it shouldn’t be literally taking a toll on your face too.  Some things you can get by on drug store items but sometimes better stuff costs you. Your skin being your largest organ and 7 layers between you and the world. Skin is no place to skimp.
The best way to get the most product for your buck as far as department store beauty goes is in three places.
