From a Professional Working Model in Los Angeles

Rachel Mullins on The Doctors

November20

In October the episode Fat Girl, Skinny Girl aired of The Doctors. This was my first leap into daytime TV and let me tell you they work for their Emmy’s over there!

A couple days before the show taped I went to a different studio to film my interstitial interview. My assistant Steven Kaufmann came along to handle my wardrobe choices and be there for moral support. They did a standing interview and a b roll pose loop. With extra emphasis on my nails, shoes and out fit.  It was much quicker than I anticipated.  When they played this during the show my face looked way shiny, for the record it wasn’t.

The day of the taping of the actual show was a bit more involved.  Arrived at the Paramount lot parked and the golf cart was unavailable which didn’t suit as I had to walk all the way to stage 30 with my hair in rollers.  Upon arrival a PA took me to my green room.  I was sharing with another girl as there was a panel of 14 women.  They hung my wardrobe and I was quickly visited by the 2nd 2nd for paper work.  After video and written release I was quickly sent to make up. After make up was hair where I ran into my hair lady i worked with on Franklin & Bash. On from hair to a run through with the Co Producer on dialog and camera positions. I ran to get dressed and got miked at the same time.

Being seated for stage went fine, then once the hosts came down things change really quickly. I have never been so frustrated with a TV show in my life. This was nobodies fault but it was absolutely irritating that the whole show came back to the same topic of “what do men like?” Men do not have day time talk shows trying to figure out what ladies like. Anyway, Once I can formulate what I want to say about the on air barb with Teddy who decided to get Jerry Springer with it I will continue with this post.
