Hennessy Black at Planet Hollywood

May20

Best advice I can give on blind networking attempts. Get a drink and hang by the door so you can see who comes in. Be mindful of whats going on and wear a conversation piece. It helps get you photographed, when you stand out from the crowd.

Gallery in Planet Hollywood with Hennessy Black

On Tuesday in Las Vegas,  Tva Parks and I went out to Gallery Night Club to pop open some Hennessy Black.  As it happens I already knew the people we went to go party with.  Jey Hall works on music with Veto aka Dr. Dre’s engineer.  The world really is just to small.  Any how look for more to come with this group we have big plans in the works.  Comment on you thoughts on Hennessy Black.  I don’t even drink but this stuff is great.

Rachel Mullins Photo Shoot On O’ahu North Shore

Last week while in Hawaii I went all the way to north shore to do a photo shoot. The light was amazing and the water was super warm. Water in California is like standing in a bucket of ice therefore shooting on the beach is not as fun as it looks. Although shooting on Hawaii beaches is pretty rocky and my knees were not happy with me.
I have yet to see the images but I’m happy with the light and wind that day. Expect serious diva shots.

How To Get Out Of a Situation

April23

On set professionalism is the number one thing while working.  To ensure you won’t get fired, your agent wont chew you out and maybe you’ll get rehired.  Bottom line be professional and take control of you situation.  In no way am I saying take any kind of shit of unacceptable conditions.  Another top rule, DO NOT cry.  Do not cry at all ever and do not call somebody else to handle your problems.  Handle everything through your agent.  If a situation arises, stepout  make a call and explain your side of the story first before anybody can bash your name.  Even threatening to call your agent during a problem, may even resolve the issue outright.  I worked during a concert once and it went horribly awry and I called told my agent we were leaving due to an unsafe environment and they paid us double.  However, we didn’t work for that client again but I don’t think I would have taken the job if they offered it.  Handle your own business like a big kid and you come out on top.

As a bottom note, if somebody keeps pushing in an unprofessional way and you have already clearly stated your position make it known. “If you push me again I will bust your damn teeth in”.

Age Of Aquarius LA Fashion Week Show March 2011

April2

During LA fashion week I walked for Kristi Moon the designer of Age Of Aquarius. We started fitting at the venue at 12 pm. Hair was done by the Carleton hair experience sponsored by Bumble and Bumble. I had a fro, it worked out great until I had to wash it out 2 days later. Make up was a little crazy because there were so many designers. When I checked in from make up I had to go get eyelashes my designer approved. This event was surprisingly smooth and organized this show was. All of LA Fashion week is shown in collectives meaning a few designers show at one time. Unlike other markets where only one designer shows at a single times slot.

The backstage area was cramped as usual it over ran out the doors. My show was number 4 in the line up so I didn’t have to wait to long. I ran into a couple other girls I have worked with that were walking for other designers. I was an oldie in my show, made me a little nostalgic of when I first started doing runway when I was 12. I’m no longer the baby at my shows I’m the grandma. Next season I’ll be on the runway with a walker. We didn’t end up leaving the venue till midnight. A 12 hour day for all of 45 seconds on the runway. I do love runway it’s my favorite job. If I could do a fashion show every day I would.

Modeling Advice Book Prologue

March31

image

This is the first draft of my book prologue it will be published in different words but carrying the same message.
While I do love my life. If you are interested in working in entertainment because its glamorous you’re wrong, stop reading and go be an accountant. Standing chest deep in the ocean at 4 am in december is not glamorous. Neither is eating bad catering or spending you’re day wasting gas on auditions you’re not going to book. Not everybody is qualified for every job. I have no business being a train engineer. Same goes with any aspect of entertainment. Im never one to preach creativity or artistic god given power. I have neither however I am over 5’8″, have correct bone structure in my nose cheeks and eyes and I fit into sample size.

Curve Show NV

March6

On valentines day I worked at the curve show in Las Vegas. Curve NV is the swim, intimate apparel and sleepwear show. I was modeling for Affinitas Parfait Intimates. Parfait was the line I was actually wearing. Parfait is a full busted line with sizes up to 44 G, It was awesome to work for a big bust friendly line and everything they make is pretty and fun to wear. Lots of colors and styles to chose from. Anything that comes in a larger size is normally in boring colors or has granny bra written all over it. This job was a combination of fit, promotional and professional presentation modeling. After my day way done I went to go visit some of the other vendors. My favorites were beach bunny and Nu Bra. There were lots of new companies showing this year.

Rachel Mullins Plot Thickens

March1

So the new year has brought on a whole new slew of opportunities and issues to my plate.  I’m very happy with the way things are going.  I have a solid plan to build steam around everything that I’m doing.  I’ve begun to deploy my troops on getting things done.  Everything seems to be coming together nicely.

All of my projects are moving smoothly and will be up and running soon.

Sundance Film Festival 2011

January30

Egyptian at Sundance Film Festival

The “Ullins” road tripped to Park City, Utah. We left on our journey to Sundance the night of the 24th. Picked up the rental made cookies and got on the road at midnight.  Arriving in Park City 12 hours later.  Luckily our hotel in north park city was ready for us and we were able to check into our room early.  This worked out great because we had a meeting 20 minutes later.

Our list of meetings ran back to back.  Spent loads of time visiting the different sponsor lounges. We brought back loads of stuff from Sundance and Slamdance.  The Bing lounge was my favorite lounge that didn’t have swag.  They took an empty restaurant and molded it into the Bing lounge for press and drinking purposes at Sundance.  We had a great time at the Kimball for the BMI Snow Ball.  House of Blues set up a temporary Foundation room next to Red Banjo Pizza (our new fav place).  The wheelers played and that’s where James Franco made an appearance in his blond e wig.  The High West Distillery had an amazing ice bar and whiskey chocolate combo plate.  My buddy TJ miller decided to throw himself a dinner party.  So thanks again for dinner:) Jacuzzi time is a very important part of Sundance.  If you ever go be sure to budget ample jacuzzi time.   I highly recommend the Calledonian hotel.  Close to the festival and they have balcony jacuzzi’s.  Count on freezing the whole time you’re there.  It’s a bit uncomfortable an it made me sick the first day.  Trying to be fabulous in the snow is a whole other kind of challenge.  We stayed till the night of the 28th and packed in as much meetings and parties as possible. Drove to Vegas that night to check into the Hard Rock at 4am.  Decent hotel and it was great to not be at 7,000 ft and freezing.

Car Kulture Deluxe Magazine

January30

I did a shoot for Car Kulture Deluxe magazine.  It was a super long drive ou to the deseart to the location.  The location was the owner of the car that I was posing with’s home.  He had a crazy collection of antiques and other ods and ends.  Things that I haven’t seen outside of a museum and then some.  He has to perfectly restored Mercurys.  One is a  sexy red 1950 and the other is a  electric blue 1955.  I was very impressed with the crispy clean interiors of both.  Both cars had an all white leather interior.  The headliner, seats and door panels were all matching white leather.  It was a super dusty shoot but the magic words “potential cover” were uttered several times.

These are what came of it
