Random Tips
They say that you learn something new everyday so this is my list of tips and tricks. They are in no specific order. Keep checking back to see whats been added. This is like the notes to self portion of my blog.
- When auditioning, don’t be needy or complain. If you can’t figure out why you’re there then don’t show up. There are plenty of others to fill that job.
- Make an effort to start a great conversation. Answering with one word answers is not cool and won’t book you anything.
- Always look for a sign in sheet right away.
- Fill out all forms completely and neatly with all of the necessary info.
- Talk to everybody involved with the audition. Be friendly and professional at all times.
- Take yourself and the job seriously, nobody wants to be around amateurs.
- On a location, keep all of your things out of the way.
- Be prepared to change in every possible location. Quickly!!!!
- Prepare yourself with all of the right tools to accomplish the task gracefully.
- Introduce yourself to the owner of the location. You’re in their space, be courteous.
- Never under any circumstances touch anything that you don’t own. Make up, tape, brushes anything, EVER!
- Keep your face up. Entertainment has Lonnnnnggggg hours, keep your face perky and it will keep you more alert.
- Always clarify what the director asked for.
