Miley Cyrus forgivness and love merican music awards

I had a great time sitting in the parents section.  Ke$has parents were behind me and Justin Biebers were in front of me. Also Katy Perry’s people next to them.  It was a pretty good show but not Grammy good.  Taylor Swift had snow foam from the ceiling and it was cold.  Even Russel Brand thought so.  I was surprised what a tight ship DC productions runs, much more uptight than any other music show.  Nokia was a great venue, a little large but the backstage was efficient.  The smoke from Katy Perry’s performance was crazy. My favorite was Christina preforming Burlesque. I’m sitting down at the end. 3:56

When they did the balloon drop over the crowd was my favortie part of the night. During a commercial Rihanna came over to give Katy Perry a wedding gift and they got to chatting then Katy tells Rihanna ” bitch I will pull the weave out of your head”, in the most loving way possible.  When they were being reseated Rihanna walked away and Katy grabbed her booty, when Rihanna screamed the whole place went silent.  After the show I talked to Akon about his absence on the KUSH video this week.  Went to get my car and headed to santa monica to the studio.

LA Fashion Week

November22

I attended most of LA fashion weekend at Sunset Gower studios.  Friday night I walked in a Halloween costume fashion show for 7til Midnight lingerie.  I wore two, Heidi Ho and a Lady bug.

The Dj of the party afterward was one of the best I have herd in LA, I had a good time shaking m lady bug wings. Always bring proper under garments and be a leader not a follower.  Never drink and Runway.

The next day was the kick off of LA Fashion weekend.  It was a green fashion theme.  I arrived at the tent bright and early.  They had a complimentary bar because all fashionable people drink before noon.  The bartender made Shaun and I a wonderful cucumber thingy, amazingly refreshing.  The morning shows were great, my favorite in fact.  Emily Factor was my favorite all day.

Shaun loved the  Joy Rich Los Angeles, show…….they had great male models.

Video Shoot For Kush Dr. Dre, Snoop and Akon

November20

getting my tan in a can, DR. Dre & Snoop Dogg + Akon video shoot

I was too white for this video so they spray tanned me.   The Kush video shoot was a 4 day event that I only worked a day on because of my other booking this week.  When I walked into wardrobe, I saw my friend Sara who I worked at Hooters with in Michigan with.  One of the behind the scenes photographers was my friend Willy T of Good Times media who shot the video of my UGO.com shoot.  Between lighting sets I was attempting to stay warm by standing next to a huge light.  Dr. Dre was to warm in his leather jacket so he asked for the air conditioning to be cranked to freezing. and spotted my friend Lefty  who I spent countless hours in the studio with in Detroit. Lefty will be in LA for 3 months working with Dr. Dre in the studio.  Much of my knowledge of the music business came from me asking him countless stupid questions.  My part of the shoot was from 330pm to 5am.  Love my working hours.  My modeling advice from this experience is, do not enter this business without a strong love of 17 hour work days.  You really to have to live, die and breathe for the entertainment business for this to work for you.  The director was Joseph Kahn who was amazing.  The production company HSI, is wonderful.  I have been to David La Chapelle’s office there.  They do great work and have a library of fantastic books (that you can keep) and awesome food.

We shot in downtown LA and the location was really accommodating. We had a large hair and make up room.  These make up artist were some of the best I’ve seen in a while.  I was really impressed with their eye make up abilities.

Selecting A Photographer

November11

When selecting a photographer to work with weather you’re paying them or working on a TF basis there are a few things to consider.  Photographers are plentiful so you have a zillion options to choose from.

First off review their portfolio:

See who they have been shooting with?

I have a serious distaste for photographers who shoot with unqualified people (wannabes)

What genre of photographs do they take? Somebody who shoots weddings is necessarily cut of to  shoot fashion.  Glamour photographers are a whole other story.  There are a million GWC’s out there shooting g strings in their basements.  If a glam photographers are not published keep looking.

What is their client base like?  If an agency uses a particular photographer more than others chances are their photos are booking models work.

More to come on this subject, feel free to send in questions or topics for discussion

Toco Pacific

September26

My favorite top I have ever owned!!!

My last trip to Tokyo,  I was working with Toco Pacific.  I had an amazing time working with them shooting and playing in their office.  Toco Pacific offices are like my version of Disneyland.  Wall to wall, floor to ceiling Prada, Chanel and Balenciaga. They have absolutely everything.  Toco pacific sells too many things to list.  You can see all of their stuff at www.tocopacific.com

These are some samples of from the shoot, you can buy anything I’m wearing.

Kava Hair Product

July14

Kava Hair Mask and Serum

Kava hair mask has been the savior to my strands.  After all of the ironing and heat and ratting of my hair it gets really dry and broken.  I have virgin hair so its in the best possible position to take the beating that modeling, TV and film does to it.  I just put it on after conditioning and leave it in for at least 5 minutes then rise it out cold.  It adds an extra layer of protection to all types of abuse that is heaped on it.

I gave my friend with very curly hair the Kava hair serum, and she loves it on her hair.

Real Models Look Real

July8

Due to the fact that I live in LA, I see WAY too much fakeness.  I’m not talking about the movie facade fake.  When deciding on your look and changing up your appearance you need to consider a few things.  Look at the girls who are booking the kind of work you want.  Google any agency out there and you can see their boards.  Do they have serious plastic surgery? collagen up the wazoo? botoxed to no expression???? The answer is no!! Also, their hair isn’t died to the point of breakage and their nails don’t have unnatural colors and they are kept up.  There is NO reason for this injection crap.  It is not attractive in any way and very hard to work with.  Hair stylist don’t have the time to soak your hair in protein before a shoot to make it manageable.  There is no Dr. out there that can evenly fill any kind of line or lip better than god.  These things show on camera and costs more time and money in re touching.  There is no better substitution for taking care of yourself.  Take care of your skin and hair, no smoking no drinking, NO drugs.  Eat right and get exercise.  Every time I see the headline “secrets to getting thin”  there is no secret, stop eating shit and get your ass some exercise.  Beauty flows from inside out.  No matter what the FDA says pumping your self full of pig botulism and chemicals does not do you any favors health wise.

If you want to be a real model with legit clients, clean up your act and put the best you out there.  I’m not knocking the use of beauty aids.  We all have our tricks to pull it together, just avoid looking like an alien.  Play with different looks to create something new is fun and helps you book work from a versatility stand point just know that the real you needs to shine no matter what.

Essentials To Work In Front Of The Camera

May11

There are a few things that you must have a few things you need need to compete against all of the competition that is out there.  If you don’t have at least the basics nobody is going to even spend the time to look at you.

1.) A business card with your photo on it.  Be sure to include your direct contact info as well.

2.) A nice clear head shot.  Printed in two sizes, 8×10 and a 5×7 or 4×8. KI have address labels with my contact info on the back.

3.)  In addition to a head shot you need a clear body shot. in a full length  or 3/4.  Girls a plain flattering swimsuit and guys, a shirtless photo will do.  The more you have to show the easier it is for a booking agent or a casting director to book you.

On a side note, you should have a comp card with a minimum of 4 photos and your stats.  again be sure to include your contact info.

Knowing Your Place-DO YOUR JOB

May10

I’ve always said that a MUA that puts brown eyeshadow on me is my biggest pet peeve, which is true.  However, a person that is incompetent of doing their job or who over steps their bounds is cause for me to come unglued.  The world has a place for everybody and everybody has a place.  Do exactly what is required of you and get the hell out of other people way.  Unfortunately, running into crazy people is inevitable.  Know who you are, what you’re there to do and execute.  When working in a professional environment, being on task is key.  Don’t slack on your duties to interrupt somebody else’s business.  Be concerned with your own responsibilities before you decide to “help” others.  In the event that you have finished your duties ahead, ask if there is anything you can do to help out.

In case you didn’t know telling professionals how to do their job with or with out doing your own is bad form.  Be apart of a team, not apart of the problem.  I may be sounding like a captain obvious here, trust me there are people who can’t even begin to comprehend these major etiquette factors.  Most importantly, don’t inject yourself into anothers creativity or space.  It will not help the end product, which after all is the goal of the day.

Other things to NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PARTAKE IN WHILE WORKING.

1.) be impolite in anyway.  Not introducing or greeting others is a big faux pas

2.) trust that somebody else will clean up after you.  Before, during or after working.

3.) even entertain the idea of alcohol, drugs or even let people see you smoke

4.) most importantly never lose your cool.  Keep it together at all times, DRAMA IS NOT CLASSY.
