Great Beauty Products From Beauty Expo Long Beach

July13

Owner of Bling Strands putting in bling standsBling Strands in my hair, in copper colorBling Strands are a new product that I found at the beauty expo.  They are tied into the hair with out using any heat or glue and they can last for 3 weeks or whenever the strand of hair falls out.

It comes in 16 sizzling colors.  I like copper the best because it was closest to my natural hair color and added serious sparkle.

Adoro False Eyelashes.

I found my perfect false eyelashes (#737) at the Miss Adoro Eyelash booth.  They have tons of different styles of 100% human hair eyelashes in strip and indivdual lashes and glue.  They are made in indonesia and they are very inexpensive.  I paid only $1 per pair.

My mid party touch up by the L'oreal MUA's

The La Raza Awards honor Latino actors, actresses, singers and other personalities.  The after party was held at Royce Hall at UCLA in Santa Monica and was mouy fabuloso!! Thanks to Eva Longoria’s spokesman-ship for L’Oreal Paris there were two make up artist touching up all the patrons with copious amounts of make up.  They gave me a great touch up and 3 shades of their new “ 6 hour infallible lip plumber” and a big fat tube of mascara.

All of the Hispanic community was in attendance, Pitbull, Eva Longoria, George Lopez, Christina Agulara, David Archuletta, Kat DeLuna, Demi Lavato and a few others.  I love the Spanish influence in the evening gowns lots of bright colored silk and everything that sparkles.  The actual awards a very very heavy.  I was able to hold one and that gold lady statue could double as a weapon.

KandyLand @ The Playboy Mansion

May27

[Note: Get THIS YEAR’S 2010 KandyLand tickets online now!

I will be back from Tokyo just in time for the KandyLand Party at The Playboy Mansion June 6th.  The Karma Foundation host several events a year to benefit different charities.  This event will raise money for http://www.journey-forward.org/.  A charity that helps those with spinal chord injuries.  A very serious cause.  As I could not imagine living with a spinal injury.

As for all sexy parties at The Playboy Mansion, there will be 100′s of naked or lingerie clad ladies.  In addition to full open bar, lots an lots of food.  Dancing and dessert are always my favorite.   If you would like to join me click the link below for tickets.  There are always cool people to see and meet every time I go there.  Hopefully Hef won’t get sick of having me around so I can give you the details of all the Playboy Parties.

Dry Oil vs. Lotion

February12

I have found that during a shoot where you have exposed skin, like 99% of shoots are.  A dry outdoor tanning spray oil has a few benefits over lotion.

  • sun protection (especially helpful if shooting outside)
  • doesn’t leave a scent on a designers clothes like lotion does
  • gives skin a nice sheen not shiny like lotion or body butter
  • if you have extra dry spots like knees or elbows it smooths this
  • evens out skin tone
  • gives a hint of extra color

If you apply a dry oil to bare skin after getting dressed, then promptly wash the hands.  Always be aware of  stains or spots on clothes that don’t belong to you.  Make up, hair products, deodorant, sprays, glitter.  These are all simple things that can ruin clothes or lead to a hefty dry cleaning bill.

Products That I Use

February6

There are a few things that I recommend having to make you job a little easier.

Business cards with your picture and stats on them.  Mine has a head shot with name and contact info on the front.  The back of my card has a body shot with my stats.  The printer that made my cards also made me photo labels.  IF you give away a photo at a casting it should have you contact information on it.  I had address labels made with a head shot and contact info on them to stick on the back of EVERY photo that I carry around.  These things can save you when you don’t have space to lug around comp cards everywhere you go.

My other favorite thing I just recently added to my arsenal of stuff is a little casting book.  I found it on the OMP store.  Its great to keep the castings and booking information organized.  Hard copy is important because your phone can fail at any time. Plus it has all kinds of helpful tips in the front.
