The Wounded Warriors Project held a charity event at the Playboy Mansion last night. There were about 800 people there supporting the cause. Victoria Fuller a very famous playmate artist held a silent and live auction of artwork, memorabilia and other items. As usual the back yard was tented off with private cabanas for v.i.p’s. More painted girls than I have ever seen there. My friends from Playboy radio were there covering the event.

<a href="http://www.rachelmullins.com/modeling-advice-blog/modeling-advice/stars-stripes-at-the-playboy-mansion/attachment/ss-013/?source=rss"rel="attachment wp-att-355" >
Naked Girls at The Playboy Mansion

The Satin Dollz opened the night with a 40′s tap dance and song. Very cool to see the ladies in all red vintage attire. They fit in with the party theame of stars and strips tremendously. Four of the girls sang Bugal Boy. It was a definately change of pace from the usual dj sounds. As I was watching the Satin Dollz I noticed that one of the girls looked super familiar….. It was a girl who works on my t.v. showGhost Girls, Jurpinko.

Rachel Dancing at the Playboy Mansion by Opie Otterstad

I went to go say hello to Victoria Fuller she had a super cool friend with her Opie Otterstad. He took the photo of me pole dancing and of Victoria and I. He is also a fantastic artist and prankster. He borrowed a pair of silicone bra staffers to wear to prank Victoria. I think they looked nice. www.opieart.com

Extenze was a major sponsor of the party and had there own bar and cabana. Tons of GoGo girls and naked girls dancing every where. There were four pole stages to dance on. I had the most fun pole dancing. However, the platform the poles are on a very small and I kicked a guy in the head. The main bar was huge and playboy bartenders are always the best and very very nice. I was disappointed that the Mansion staff didn’t do the catering. The kitchen in the mansion is like a 4 star restaurant. I had more than my share of chocolate covered strawberries with a few cookies.

There are always celebrities at The Playboy Mansion it just depends on the night. As I was on my way in I spotted Adrianne Curry. While getting a bite at the cheese and cracker table I literally bumped into Paulie Shore and Cory Feldman. David Hasselhoff was signing head shots for guest, I guess he is short on work these days. Mid- pole dance session I looked over to see a huge crowd around a tent and what looked like nobody in it. I was wrong there was a person in there, the most famous L.P. Vern Troyer. Of course Hef and his 3 lady friends were in their own cabana till the wee hours of 10:30pm. Hef goes to bed earlier and earlier these days. Lindsey Lohan decided to show up for a vodka cranberry and abruptly let and took a drink or the road.

Of course everybody dreams of a top ten agency like Ford or Wilhelmina, Elite or a legendary agent at CAA, William Morris, Endeavor ect. This is where be careful what you wish for comes in. Not that these companies are not the top of the top. However, an agent that believes in your talent and works for you is more important. There are plenty of agents that will take on clients and not book work or not put in effort or somebody who sells themselves. It’s not a hard job to get Tom Hanks into a movie or Chanel Iman into a fashion show. Agency’s are a business and need to make money. Exclusive contracts should never be taken lightly. A contract is taking a portion of your already short career.

When agent, manager, publicist shopping keep in mind who they are as a person. Does this person have people that look just like you? Do they want to change your genre? Are their credentials up to par? Agents will always look at you with a critical eye. Height, weight , skill, stats, experience, trustworthiness are all things they want from you. You need the same from them. A partnership is requires for both o you to make money. Chasing the almighty dollar is no easy task and the more you help each other the easier it gets.

It’s important to get as much face time that you can with your representation. They will be making decisions for you daily. It’s important that you both understand the personality and work ethic of one another. Keep things professional but be as accessible as possible. Always tell them how auditions or bookings went. Remind them to make phone calls to people you think may need to know who you are. If your new to the area, have them introduce you to potential clients and other people in the business. A client can’t book you if they don’t know you exist. If there are industry parties with clients or social events. Invite your representation to help work the room o press at the event.

In short, the name of the agency is great but its the agent themselves is what matters. Somebody who will sell you and work on your behalf is the most important.

All people need people….. thus a team of professional to handle, promote and guide your career is key. First order of business is finding an agent. Yes, direct booking means you don’t need to give up that 15%. However, an agent keeps you paid (they do your billing), can negotiate a higher base rate and save you from an icky situation. My agent is well known as the T&A man of Hollywood. He has represented some very famous boobs and a few butts. Another percentage you have to kick out ( further down the line) is to a manager.

Management is a very difficult thing to find. It requires an incredible amount of trust. This person will know every aspect of your life and need to have complete access to it. This person is the go between all of you clients and your agent and anybody else you have like your stylist, assistants, publicist, printer, web designer, dry cleaner, dog walker, personal trainer, accountant, the person who makes your pancakes, your travel accomodations, shoe repair man, house keeper, florist, therapist, and your 9pm dinner meeting. There are managers that make and break careers of their clients. A good manager will have an extremely small client list. This is the most personalized service to a talent.
