BET 106 & Park Fashion Show with Dominique Ansari

At the world famous muscle beach stages in Venice beach I walked in the Dominque Ansari  fashion show.  BET 106 & Park has a talent show every year around the country called Blaze the Stage.  There was acts going on all day, two of which were fashion shows.  Our hair and make up team did a great job keeping our looks intact while on a windy beach.  I was really glad I packed lots of clothes because it was cold in the morning and hot in the evening.  We did have a serious gawker problem.  A random man with a camera came into my make up tent ad started taking pictures inside my face.  He truly didn’t think that it would be a bother for him to be in the way and take pictures he didn’t have permission to take.  Always tell gawkers off if they are acting out of line tell them.  You don’t need to have unnecessary people in your work...

Curve Show NV

On valentines day I worked at the curve show in Las Vegas. Curve NV is the swim, intimate apparel and sleepwear show. I was modeling for Affinitas Parfait Intimates. Parfait was the line I was actually wearing. Parfait is a full busted line with sizes up to 44 G, It was awesome to work for a big bust friendly line and everything they make is pretty and fun to wear. Lots of colors and styles to chose from. Anything that comes in a larger size is normally in boring colors or has granny bra written all over it. This job was a combination of fit, promotional and professional presentation modeling. After my day way done I went to go visit some of the other vendors. My favorites were beach bunny and Nu Bra. There were lots of new companies showing this...

Car Kulture Deluxe Magazine

I did a shoot for Car Kulture Deluxe magazine.  It was a super long drive ou to the deseart to the location.  The location was the owner of the car that I was posing with’s home.  He had a crazy collection of antiques and other ods and ends.  Things that I haven’t seen outside of a museum and then some.  He has to perfectly restored Mercurys.  One is a  sexy red 1950 and the other is a  electric blue 1955.  I was very impressed with the crispy clean interiors of both.  Both cars had an all white leather interior.  The headliner, seats and door panels were all matching white leather.  It was a super dusty shoot but the magic words “potential cover” were uttered several times. These are what came of...

Tashsa Fashion Visit

Yesterday I made a trip to the all inclusive warehouse,  showroom and studio of Tasha.  They are located in downtown LA and have a great facility.  I hope to have a similar set up for Heart ME one day.  I did a little test shoot in some of their sweater dresses that were super cute and very cozy. I love sweater dresses, I wear them all the time.  It looks to be the start of a beautiful relationship with a new...

Video Shoot For Kush Dr. Dre, Snoop and Akon

I was too white for this video so they spray tanned me.   The Kush video shoot was a 4 day event that I only worked a day on because of my other booking this week.  When I walked into wardrobe, I saw my friend Sara who I worked at Hooters with in Michigan with.  One of the behind the scenes photographers was my friend Willy T of Good Times media who shot the video of my UGO.com shoot.  Between lighting sets I was attempting to stay warm by standing next to a huge light.  Dr. Dre was to warm in his leather jacket so he asked for the air conditioning to be cranked to freezing. and spotted my friend Lefty  who I spent countless hours in the studio with in Detroit. Lefty will be in LA for 3 months working with Dr. Dre in the studio.  Much of my knowledge of the music business came from me asking him countless stupid questions.  My part of the shoot was from 330pm to 5am.  Love my working hours.  My modeling advice from this experience is, do not enter this business without a strong love of 17 hour work days.  You really to have to live, die and breathe for the entertainment business for this to work for you.  The director was Joseph Kahn who was amazing.  The production company HSI, is wonderful.  I have been to David La Chapelle’s office there.  They do great work and have a library of fantastic books (that you can keep) and awesome food. We shot in downtown LA and the location was really accommodating. We...

Delayed Reaction

I haven’t been blogging so much as I have had to keep tight lipped on some recent events.  I have just completed the filming stage of a project I have been working on for about 6 months.  After the airing of Shopping Addicts on the WE channel I gave this new project my full attention.  Keeping in touch with the Executive Producer of Secret Lives of Women for a year.  Her and I had been kicking around ideas to elaborate on Shopping addicts.  As I do have an addiction to fashion that I love this had made great sense to me.  My designer friends and clients have been such a great support to my little project and my biggest cheerleaders.  My publicist has also been a great help in the behind the scenes efforts to make this vision come to fruition.  I’m very pleased with the outcome thus far and the final stages of post production are the home stretch.  My manager will be laying th e pathway to be able to shop the projects to the networks by the second week of January to keep ahead of pilot season. I can’t yet say what it is but I think it will be great and if the world see’s a finished product I think it will be very helpful to many people.  I have cumniated 9 years in the fashion industry into this so with luck it will be a new take on how fashion and the real world can co...
